M.A.R. is a rap artist from Bridgeport, CT. Throughout his life he has always been fascinated with music. At ten years old he was introduced into the world of DJ and Turntables. He would mix and scratch for hours on his turntables mastering the art of becoming a great entertainer. His appreciation for music has allowed him to be very creative with his beat machine and turntables creating instrumental beats for recording. Through his participation in film and video production class he has been able to combine his love for music, acting, video editing, in creating great music and video productions.

In the course of his search for a career in music he decided to intern at Def Jam Records in the Video Production and Artist Development departments. While working in the Artist Development under his mentor Skane Dolla of Desert Storm Records, he learned the business end to end. He also held another internship position at Rite Track Studios. Eager to learn more of the business he ventured out on Tour with another mentor from Invisible Transportation. He has toured on the Glow in the Dark tour, Scream fest 07, R Kelly Tour, Maroon 5 Tour, and attended several promotional events.

His passion, love and dedication to music have allowed him some great opportunities in the entertainment industry. This is his vision Music and Television has transformed today’s society and he looks forward to being part of this continuing change.

2010 has been an exciting ride for M.A.R. He performed at the legendary Toad’s Place in New Haven, Connecticut at the Hip Hop Showcase and brought in the most passes in the Showcase’s history. From there he was off and running. He performed at the legenedary webster hall in the Get Your Buzz Up Hip Hop Showcase. He won the roc nation showcase sponsored by indie elite promotions in Brooklyn, New York. He next Headlined Concerts at the Space in Hamden, bringing in a sell out crowd. Next he participated in a Tournament hosted by 50 Mics, Def Jam, XXL, and The Source. He won the competition with a medley of the songs “Prince Soon to Be King Back” and “It’s Hard”. He was crowned the Connecticut 50 Mics Champion and was awarded a Digiwaxx package consisting of $2,000.00 and Digiwaxx is set to release his page to all major DJ’s throughout the world.

Further, he headlined shows at the Corner Pocket Café in Orange, CT at the venue’s first ever Hip Hop Night as well as Afton Hartford Presents Live at Toad’s Place. He currently has two singles on youtube; one called grinding featuring Jr. Writer from the Diplomats. The song/video has over 131k videos on youtube. His current smash single called, “Frozen Tag” has over 100k views and the song/video only been released for a month. In addition, his current mixtape, “True To My Religion” has over 25k downloads on datpiff.com and the mixtape has been bronzed.

M.A.R. has opened for act’s such as Juelz Santana of DipSet at Toad’s Place, Young Jeezy, Lloyd Banks, Vado and opened for Chris Webby at Toads Place, who is currently an independent rapper on a 40 city tour. He also embark on the TopMics Tour sponsored by the Source Magazine, which he was featured as a Headlining Artist. His upcoming mixtape is set to be released in early May entitled “Marlitos Way”. This is just the beginning for M.A.R. and he will not rest until he is one of the biggest names in the Hip Hop world.
