EXCLUSIVE – Kodak Black has come clean about why he really wanted to land one particular Disney audition back when he hadn’t yet kickstarted his rap career.
On Saturday (October 28), HipHopDX caught up with the Florida native at One Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. During the brief chat, he set the record straight regarding a viral clip in which a juvenile Kodak claimed to be on his way to a Nickelodeon audition.
When asked which show he was trying to work on all those years ago, the 26-year-old clarified that he never actually got to try out for the children’s network.
“I never did [audition for Nick],” he admitted. “I wanted to audition for Shake It Up so I could push up on Zendaya.”
The viral video referenced above, which began making the rounds online earlier this year, shows a young Kodak Black claiming that he was on his way to an acting audition. While it’s unknown when the video was taped, fans speculated it may have been recorded during the mid-2000s.
“Yeah, auditioning with Nickelodeon ’cause you know a new show coming out, feel me,” he said confidently. “Just, just stay tuned. I’m gon’ be on there. I know how to act.”
