KING VON ALLEGEDLY DISHES OUT VICIOUS BEATDOWN IN LEAKED JAIL VIDEO

Written by on July 24, 2020

Footage of King Von allegedly beating up a Chicago rival in jail has surfaced online.

Unearthed by the Instagram account Chicago’s Rarest on Wednesday (July 19), the video claims to show the late rapper slipping off his handcuffs and violently assaulting another inmate while in a holding cell.

Von can be seen walking over to the corner of the cell and, with the help of another inmate, somehow removing his handcuffs. With both hands free, he then confronts the man and begins punching him several times.

After several seconds, the fight is eventually broken up by sheriff deputies and Von is placed back in handcuffs.

According to Chicago’s Rarest, the attack — which took place in 2017 — stemmed from the victim, a man named 051 Freeky, having a tattoo that said: “Fuck L’A Capone,” referring to the Chicago rapper and OTF affiliate who was shot and killed in 2013.

Three men — Meiko Buchanan, Sakhee Hardy-Johnson and Michael Mays — were convicted of Capone’s murder and each sentenced to decades in prison. All were affiliated with 051 Young Money, a rival crew.

This isn’t the only King Von jail video that has surfaced this week. On Tuesday (July 18), Chicago’s Rarest dug up a separate clip of the Welcome to O’Block rapper telling police officers he’s “gay” in an attempt to be moved to a safer cell.

The leaked bodycam footage from November 2017 shows Von informing cops of his purported sexual orientation in an attempt to be transferred to another area of the jail and receive protective custody.

“Because of your sexual orientation, you’re requesting protective custody, is that correct?” one officer asks Von, who replies: “Yes.”

“They could be Christian, they got a problem with gay people. Bye, Lil Josh,” he then says while jokingly blowing a kiss to prove his point. “I’ma fuck you too. They tried to let me suck they dick.”

King Von (real name Dayvon Bennett) was shot and killed outside of an Atlanta hookah lounge on November 6, 2020 during a dispute with fellow rapper Quando Rondo’s crew. Timothy “Lul Tim” Leeks has since been charged over his murder.

The 26-year-old was no stranger to legal trouble before his demise having been arrested multiple times, most notably in connection with a shooting and robbery in Atlanta in 2019. His close friend and collaborator Lil Durk was also arrested over the crime.
